The Samsung Galaxy Duos 3 has been leaked by a Mumbai based retailer before the official launch
Samsung is trying to claw its way back into the budget segment with the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3. The phone has been leaked by a retailer who claims that it will be priced at Rs. 7,999.
Mumbai-based Mahesh Telecom has tweeted about the upcoming device. The same retailer also revealed the existence of the Galaxy Ace NXT a few days before the phone was officially released.
If you are looking for a dramatic upgrade over the previous iteration, you are in for a big disappointment. It features a 4 inch WVGA screen like its predecessor. The Duos 3 is fueled by a 1 GHz dual-core processor paired with 512 MB of RAM. It has support for dual-SIMs and 3G along with the usual connectivity options.
On the optics front, it carries a 5 Megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera. The device has 4 GB of internal storage which can be expanded further via a microSD card. The Duos 3 will derive its juice from a 1500 mAh battery.
Samsung has also built in support for 14 Indian languages.
If you are familiar with the Galaxy Duos 2, you might remember the device having a 1.2 GHz processor and 768 MB of RAM. In an inexplicable move, Samsung has actually managed to downgrade the specifications in a subsequent version. Indeed, the only improvement on paper is the Android version on the devices..
While the phone is retailing for a lesser amount, it faces competition from phones with much superior hardware like the Moto E and the Redmi 1S. It is difficult to guess what Samsung is aiming for with a move like this.

The Samsung Galaxy Duos 3 has not yet been made official by the company but we can expect an announcement in the coming days.
